Short answer: there was never a Vonwik app. The file handed out at vonwik.com/download/smarters.apk was a copy of IPTV Smarters Player, an off-the-shelf player that any provider’s credentials can be typed into. The app on your Firestick still opens. It simply has nothing left to connect to.
What the download actually was
IPTV Smarters Player is a free, widely used IPTV app. Hundreds of providers hand out the same file and call it their app, because the app is not the product — the line is. Vonwik did the same thing: you installed a standard player and typed in the credentials they emailed you.
That is also why every Vonwik setup guide looked identical to every other provider’s guide. It was the same software in all of them.
Is it safe to leave installed?
The player itself is an ordinary app, not malware. But there is no reason to keep this copy:
- It cannot connect to anything. The servers behind it were switched off in June 2026.
- A sideloaded build from a domain that no longer exists will never receive another update.
- Search results for a Vonwik APK now point at mirrors nobody controls, and repackaged IPTV APKs are a well known way to get adware onto a Fire TV Stick.
Remove it, and if you still want IPTV Smarters, install a current copy from its own site rather than from a mirror promising a Vonwik build.

Your old credentials will not work in any of them
This catches people out: they install a fresh player, type the same username and password, and get the same failure. The app was never the problem. The line behind it is gone, and no player can revive it.
